The challenge of reducing nutrient pollution in the Solent region requires a collaborative approach that brings together a wide range of stakeholders. 


The Solent Catchment Market Consortium brings together a team of experts in market design and operation, environmental land management, landowner engagement and communications.  More information about the members of the Consortium is available below.


EnTrade is leading the work of the Consortium to deliver the Solent Catchment Market.

EnTrade creates and operates on-line markets for nature based solutions to address the environmental challenges of nutrient neutrality, biodiversity net gain, net zero carbon and flood risk management. 

Wheatley Young Partners is leading the market design and engagement strategy for the Solent Catchment Market.

Wheatley Young Partners is a specialist consulting firm with expertise in the design and delivery of environmental regulations, policies and programmes. The team has significant experience in the design of environmental markets for nature in the UK, and a succesful track record of stakeholder engagement and communication strategy.

The University of Exeter is leading the design and development of the market settlement process.

The University of Exeter Mechanism Design Team is an economics research group specialising in the design of market instruments for the exchange of environmental services. The team combines world-leading academic expertise with a decade of real-world experience.

Arcadian Ecology & Consulting is leading the engagement with farmers and landowners, including facilitating access to expertise to support Project Development.

Arcadian Ecology and Consulting is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.  The Arcadian team has over 20-years’ combined experience of working with farmers and landowners to maximise the environmental potential of their land in a way that supports farm business.

Arup is leading the establishment of the Platform Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, and is leading the User Testing of the Platform.

Arup works across all aspects of the built and natural environment.  There are two Arup teams involved in the Consortium. Arup’s Water group designs and delivers water management projects at a local, national and international level. The Advanced Digital Engineering group brings together Arup’s traditional engineering and design strengths with advanced digital expertise in data, models, analytics, and user–centred design.
